The Avengers: Loki

The 3rd addition to my Avengers series! Hope the Avengers fever hasn't died down too much over the looong time that it took for me to finish this. This is Loki amongst the frozen wasteland of Nieflheim, the Norse underground.

I felt so stuck while this was at its portrait stage (see first few images of WIP [link] ) because the composition just didn't inspire me. But a friend gave me his brilliant idea of widening the landscape yesterday, and the rest of the painting almost seemed to paint itself from there. I'm very happy with this! but of course comments and criticism most welcomed as usual. (still not quite sure if I'm completely done with it)
