A painting that I started working on ages ago but only got around to finishing now. School's out so I'll be painting a lot more now! here's something fantastical amidst all the portraits I've been doing lately. Unfortunately only when I was at the final stages of the painting did I notice just how much it resembled this other painting I have:



Oh well. Anyway, the ship wreck in the background was added after an insiring visit to the Titanic museum and watching Titanic 3D. Yes I know it's cheesy but I love the movie Titanic. In fact I've been collecting reference photos of the very handsome Jack Dawson and will probably paint him pretty soon. Hope you guys like this one :) Comments very much appreciated!

It is wonderful. I don't know i it is only my computer screen, but the wreck is a little dark here, I can hardly see it. A bit more emphasis on the wreck could help compose a harmonic work-together of fore- and brackground. But I love the mermaid. The shape, the dynamics, the anatomy and the contrast between blue and red (I looooove blue :) ) work together juyt right! :)
